2021 Verna J. Kirkness Education Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is intended for those students who were accepted to attend the 2020 VJKF Program & attended the 2021 VJKF Virtual Program. 

 

To complete the application form, you must answer the following question: 

 

Describe your experience attending The Verna J. Kirkness Education Foundation program, or the most interesting thing you learned. (Max 200 words.)

Eligibility

  • Student self-identifies as First Nations (status or non-status), Métis, or Inuit.
  • Completed the VJKF Program
  • Students are only eligible to apply in the year they graduate the VJFK Program.
  • Students must be in either grades 11 or 12 to apply.
  • Students must complete the scholarship application to be eligible.
  • Attended the VJKF program in 2023 (or in later years)

Terms of Reference

  1. This scholarship is available to ALL students who completed the 2021 VJKF Program.
  2. Each scholarship has a value of $1000.
  3. The basis of the award will be active participation in the 2021 VJKF program.
  4. Payment will be made when the awardee has begun attendance at a publicly funded university or college. (Approved post-secondary list: https://www.collegesinstitutes.ca/our-members/member-directory/. A copy of university schedule will be required to prove enrollment.)
